Justin Profile

Justin Barker

Justin simply loves adventures, and from the day he left school, rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing and cycling have all been passions of his.

His adventures have taken his far and wide; from climbing the snow and ice of Mont Blanc to rock climbing all over Europe to trips to Alaska, these are just a few of his many adventures.

Mountain biking closer to home in the Peak District or Snowdoina was something that he found just as exciting and many a weekend has been spent exploring new routes and trails.

Over the years Justin has become a qualified Mountain Leader and Rock climbing instructor, and plans to gain further qualifications as part of the British Cycling Ride Leadership scheme.

Following a climbing accident a few years ago ending in a broken back, together with family commitments, Justin took up road cycling, and in his usual style gave it everything he could. Joining a local club (Black Horse Velo) his next passion started, and has taken him cycling all over the UK and the Alps, including competing in several international competittions.

Now Justin helps with club rides, enjoys the great club social scene and is always dreaming and planning the next adventure.

John Parton

Since an early age John has enjoyed the outdoors and the challenges it brings.

Taking up long distance kayak racing in his teens, he progressed into white water kayaking, running rivers across the UK and Europe.

Biking has always been one of his true passions; from mountain biking down the sides of steep Norwegian Fjords, to road racing in the UK and Europe, to leading groups across Scotland. As a qualified mountain bike instructor, John aims to gain further qualifications as part of the British Cycling Ride Leadership scheme and take his guiding to the next level.

As a qualified teacher, kayak instructor, climber, biker and power boat instructor, John enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors with others, and sharing those special moments of fear and excitement, peace and tranquility, that the outdoors has to offer.

With many memories of adventures past, John looks forward to future challenges and can’t wait to get back out on his bike, skis, kayak, running shoes………..
